This is an excellent anthology of contemporary writers including Diana Abu-Jaber, Eveyln Accad, Naomi Shihab Nye, and Hayan Charara. The Situe Stories by Frances Khirallah Noble Syracuse, NY: Syracuse University Press, 2000. These stories, covering much of the 20th century, are about the experiences of Arab grandmothers immigrating into the United States. Read about Samir and Yonatan, a new book for young adults that explores the relationship between Israeli and Palestinian youth. Said, Edward. Out of Place: A Memoir, a new book by the critically acclaimed author and critic. This is his story of growing up with mixed cultural roots. |
